Albus Dumbledore

Well, I just checked mugglenet.com. You know, the best Harry Potter site in existence. Well anyway, I used to check it multiple times a day every day, but after I finished the 7th book...it slowed down. I barely EVER check it now. Well, I felt like checking it today and you wont believe what was revealed! JK Rowling in an interview or book conference or something- revealed that Dumbledore was gay. WHAT?! She even said that he was inlove with Grindewald. I guess that explains a little better why he was tempted to the dark arts in his youth? Ugh. I really wish she wouldn't have revealed this. I guess it's not a big deal, but really..why? whats the point? I hope no one is offended by this. Honestly, I always imagined Dumbledore and Madam Pomfrey (the hospital wing lady) in a secret relationship. I really liked my imagined up romance that was never revealed. Now that idea is squashed. Hmmm....what are YOUR thoughts?

I think that it is totally not necessary for her to come out and say that Dumbledore is gay what was the relevance in that when all the books are out and already done. perhaps to cause a little contraversy(sp) or sell some more books, who knows. Maybe they will bring that out in the movies or something, anyway totally disappointing I think. I was reading your previouse comments that sucks about the sound system, hopefully you will be able to work out a compromise of some sort. Congrats on your new calling, you guys will be really good at that. by the way I finished the first book Twilight, really enjoyed it and I am starting on the second, hope to chat with you about it later, have to go get some sleep now. by the way hang in there with school it will get better.
Love you guys,
Aunt Susan

Dad read that a few days ago, my thoughts about that besides making me mad, was that it wasn't true, that she just said it after the fact to appeal to the huge gay market out there. Otherwise why did she wait until now. There was no sign of it anywhere in the books. He danced with women, and none of the teachers were married, so it isn't weird that he wasn't married. None of the teachers ever did anything romantic except Hagrid. so the long and short of my run on sentence is I think it is bunk!!! and it makes me mad!

I knew you would blog about it sooner or later! My friend said the same thing on her blog..."why?" Seriously, I don't really see the point either. I'm like you, I like to imagine my own scenarios with the characters...and like your mom said, none of the teachers were married or romantically involved with anyone, so it wasn't weird.

Anyway, I love Dumbledore either way...just silliness. Guess she's ticked that twilight is doing so well...she had to do something to get back into the spotlight!

I cannot see why that had to come out. What does that have to do with the story that has been going on? I love Dumbledore he is one of my favorite characters and I just do not get it. I agree with your friend that thinks it has to do with trying to get some attention back on the Harry Potter series. Have a great day and I will see you later
Love you

Yes, I found this out DAYS ago. I couldn't believe it. "What is the point" couldn't more be my thoughts. Of course it doesn't ruin HP but it taints it a little. And now I don't even wanna THINK about the Grindewald situation. That just grosses me out. Like some summer romance- GROSS!!!! I hate it. I just don't think I can read those parts now. And yes, WHY WAS THIS NECESSARY!!!! It's like he's "coming out" not that HP is over and famous. Now he's "aloud". And he's not gay. Is she trying to be cool or something? Why is his sexuality even a thought of interest? I've certainly never thought about it. It's STUPID!!!! And I AM actually mad about it. I think I could have handled it if she wasn't specific about his "love interest". That's just TOO MUCH INFORMATION!!!! Yes, I was most disappointed (to say the very least.)

Oh, and if they put that in a movie (of course they will because we all have to put how being gay is ok in EVERYTHING!) I will be so mad. I just DON'T need to see that. I guess I wouldn't be so sensitive if it was something else. Albus and Harry are just so dear to my heart.

Oh, I'm just not going to believe it (whether it's true or not). Maybe some moron put that on there and JK never said it.

Okay, I totally shouldn't have, but I looked it up on the internet and source after source quote JK as saying Dumbledore is gay and that a huge theme in the books is tolerance, so it's so "great" that Dumbledore is gay. He still doesn't seem gay to me. I think she's off her rocker.
