New Goals

It doesn't have to be January to make new goals, so I am stepping up and making some new goals...and I HOPE you'll join me. Here is what I am doing:

1. Zumba twice a week (1 hour long sessions)

2. Walking Dante everyday I'm not doing Zumba

3. No sugar until Thanksgiving

4. Drink at least 64 oz water a day. I think. Basically drink at least one of my big water bottles a day, which I think is 64 oz...cause it's ginormo.

5. Eat lots of vegetables and fruit. Lots and lots and lots.

Yep! I am going to be so healthy. Here's the deal- I know I shouldn't be having sugar anyway...but this whole cheat day business is no good. It makes it so I crave it still and cave multiple times a week. This is NOT okay. AND, I know I swore off sugar a while ago! But I caved and said, oh I'll keep my cheat days. Cheat days turned into multiple days. Anywho, I feel like I am much better at reward systems. So, if I stay off of sugar until Thanksgiving, I will feel ZERO guilt during Thanksgiving, and eat as much sweets as I want! I know some people are against this method, but a light at the end of the tunnel is much better than bitter darkness that has no end :) And I'm thinking I will probably do the same thing after Thanksgiving- no sweets till Christmas. We'll see.

Zumba! My friend invited me to Zumba and I went on Monday and it was this intense hour long deal and I totally did it and felt great! No joint pain...I mean, I was definitely WINDED...but that's cause I'm out of shape. So I'm gonna go with her twice a week and it'll be great.

So here's the deal. I have found it's a LOT easier to do something hard...when someone else is doing it with you. So who's with me? You don't have to do ZUMBA, but I'd say some sort of exercise each day (whether it be walking or weights or dancing)...except on Sunday's, more fruit and veggies, more water, and most of all NO SUGAR till thanksgiving! If you want to choose one- I suggest the sugar one. Seriously, it'd be so great if a lot of us were doing this! We'd all be so much healthier...and you KNOW how hard it is to get through the halloween season with candy everywhere. If we make this commitment, it will be SO much easier. This may not work for you guys, but I decided everytime I see candy or sweets, I will think the word "bugs" in my head. Cause it'll remind me of the bugs in my body feeding off of the sugar. For you, maybe it'll be "death" or something. hahaa.

Well! Wish me luck! I'm really hoping and praying I can stick to this cause I think it'll really help me get better faster. Woohoo!!!!

Yea for goals! I miss you! Well, I'm up for all the goals, but I'm not gonna keep track of the water. Though I have been eating more veggies lately, but i'm pretty confident it's STILL not enough. I need to get better about that. I had it in my head if I ate fruit, I didn't need veggies. I've been realizing that's not the BEST method of health. not horrible, just not near as good as it should/could be. When I see chocolate my strength is when I think, "DRUGS" because that's what it is to me. My trap, my never ending hole, my enslaver. That's what keeps me away when I'm feeling weak and tempted. ZUMBA is the best. I'm so glad you found it. There's even a pretty good KINECT work out if you end up getting one!

I'm very happy for you that you have these goals. Unfortunately... I will not be joining your no sugar rule :) However I have no problem with the water-I already drink alot of water, and the vegis and fruit- When I can have fruit again- it will be NO PROBLEM! I can't wait to have fruit when I want! I'm pretty good on the vegis. But I am not willing to give up sugar. However- I am not like I used to be obviously, and I have made it a goal to limit myself each day, rather than running wild with it. That is wonderful you have these goals- the holdiays will be so wonderful for you! I do think it'd be easier though to go without sugar altogether like you said. It's hard having a little and then stopping. I know it'd be easier if I just quit altogether but I'm just not to that point in my life. love you!

You go girl!!!! I would die for your motivation. You are awesome. I really should get up and going to. I know what you mean about it's easier doing something hard if somebody is doing it with you. I think that is why Natalie and I do everything together.

I'm in! I want to know if it would still count if I ate sugar on my b-day? I have been more lax about some of those things, more than I have in years, so this would be good for me! I'm so happy you can exercise. I need to find a visual for the sugar. I think I can do that and it would help. I love you! Thanks for asking us to do this! Can't wait to see you! love you!

Great goals! I think it's a good idea too to not just wait for the new year all the time to set new ones.
I'm a major water drinker so I've got that one down and I'm not a huge sugar eater so that one won't do me much good. BUT, the walking your dog one was one I have been gearing up to do for the last week or so. I'm going to be walking my baby though - does that count, haha. I actually even got a new stroller off craigslist a few weeks ago in hopes of doing it and now you've motivated me :)
