I am a rockstar.

Because I made these:

Place Mats Collage

I love these.

I made these in my Home Decor sewing class. Have I expressed yet how GLAD I am I decided to get an emphasis in Home and Family Education? I LOVE THESE CLASSES!

Anyhow, the bottom right picture shows one of the most AWESOME things I learned in the class: mitered corners. They are awesome, and way easy peasy. Another thing I learned was the amazing wonders of the WALKING FOOT. Oh, how I desire one. They are like around...$165 my teacher said, so that is just one of the many things piling up on my wish list. Anyway- I LOVE the colors, patterns, and everything. Can you tell the direction I'm headed with my kitchen? BRIGHT, colorful, eclectic, you know...wonderful!

Anyway, keep lookin- soon I will post Clay's plaid shirt. It's home...I just prefer to take a picture of it ON him.

In case any of you are losing sleep over what we did for our anniversary:)...we basically ate pizza, watched Avonlea (which keeps getting better and BETTER), and did homework. Just an average day. What? That isn't good enough? Well- yeah it is. We are poor munchkins...neither of us are capable of justifying spending money for fancy food or movies......not until we have money!

Goodbye.

OH MY GOSH- I LOVE THOSE!!!!!!!!!!! I want to get the exact same fabric and make those exact place mats!!!!!! I love them so much! You are so good at picking out colors and matches, coordinates. OK- I have done mitered corners, but I totally just guess at it, and it looks crappy, and it's really hard for me- So I need you to teach me how to do it. Are you coming to visit after you graduate???? Please say yes!!! I love you!

Those are sooooooo gorgeous!!!!! I am so happy you got to take those classes too! You probably never would have tried all those things and sewn like you do! I think Amy is right about the walking foot but I am not positive. I know how you feel about Avonlea, I thought they just kept getting better and better also. I loved them, they were soooo comforting. love you!!

Love those placemats! Absolutely awesome! Anniversaries aren't always spent doing the greatest things for an entire day. Your night sounds more like our anniversaries for the last several years. I guess that it is a sign that you have been married for more than a couple of years.

Beautiful placemats!!! You did such a good job on them. Someone need to teach me to miter corners. Looks great and I am with you on the classes. I hated anything to do with english. I have a walking foot or at least I think I do and it didn't cost that much and I got it at the same place I bought the machine. I use it in quilting. Love you and I will be seeing you in June. grams

Wow, you did a really good job on the sewing. I am way impressed. They look perfect. I thought THAT'S why you showed the corner. It shows how perfect the sewing is! I can't beleive you sewed Clay a shirt! Poetry sounds awful. I remember feeling that way in High School. And you get like straight A's. If it's hard for you- uh- it must be terrible. I can't believe you watched Avonlea for your anniversary. Hilarious! No I get it. I doubt we do anything for our next anniversary. We were tecnically in Italy for our last, but I think I remembered 3 days later, "Oh yeah, our anniversary happened!"

The actual stitching on those is amazing!! So straight and perfect. The colors are awesome, and I really want a walking foot too!!! There are these specific quilts I want to make that require one, but I can't figure out where I get one for my Janome. Do you know?

The placemats look great! That's a great talent to be able to create things from a simple piece of fabric. I wish I could sew like that, it would make my decorating so much easier to be able to make it exactly how I want it. Just gorgeous!!
