My 30 Day Experiment

So, up there is my face...

These pictures were taken about 10 minutes ago. I have no makeup on, it is completely clean. And....there's obviously a problem here.

I get these ginormous zits, that HURT, and are not very pretty! They don't go away for like...a month. No exaggeration. So I was reading online and it looks like a TON of people swear by honey masks. They simply coat their face in honey for 30 minutes to an hour. Well, then a TON of people also swear by Aspirin Masks. Where you dissolve aspirin in warm water, to make a mask. They suggest that people with sensitive skin (me) only do this 1-2 times a week. So I decided for 30 days, I'm going to do a honey mask 6 days of the week, and 1 day of the week I will do an Aspirin Mask. And maybe, just MAYBE, my face wont look and feel so darn bad. I know that some people have worse acne, and I feel so bad for those people. So, if you're one of them- maybe try it with me! Anyway...I really hope this helps. I read that it doesn't prevent acne, but it manages it quite well...as in- it will bring a white head to the surface quicker, it will make the zits not so ginormous, decrease inflammation, etc. So those things could greatly help.

I am currently sitting with honey slathered all over my face and part of my neck! It actually feels pretty stingy...which I wasn't expecting. So hopefully that's good. I surely don't want to go to work tomorrow with a irritated face.

So I took my test a week ago. I don't find out my score until the end of September (LAME!). I felt...okay. I mean, I didn't feel like "Oh no! I don't know anything!" but I also didn't feel like, "YES! I know EVERYTHING!". So...who knows. I felt about the same as the other tests...so hopefully that means I passed!

I painted my piano....and boy is that a story. So I spent ALL day Friday, half the day Saturday...and the piano looked LOVELY. I loved it. So to finish it up, I decided to spray on clear gloss paint to help protect it. The can said, "Fast drying, non-yellowing" and I'm pretty sure it should've said, "Don't use it if you don't want yellow splotches!" Cause guess what?!?! I sprayed it all over and what do I see after I look back at it? YELLOW SPLOTCHES ALL OVER MY BEAUTIFUL WHITE PIANO I JUST SPENT TWO DAYS ON. Oh my heck. I was pretty depressed for a minute. But then I just decided, well...I guess I'll just get another can of white spray paint and spray over it...then re-glaze it. GEEZ. But I'm happy to report that finally, TODAY- it is all done and put together just waiting to be brought inside again! Yipee! I will post a pic after it's inside.

I haven't been studying for my next section yet cause it's scheduled for October 19th...so I figured I could use a tiny break. It's been so nice! But probably next week I'll need to start it back up again.

What else what else. I'm just so happy because Clay and I both are feeling lots better lately. I finally feel like it's all working and we are going to get better. Such a comfort!

Well...I suppose that's all. OH- Bachelorette...I was so pleased with the outcome. I hope they make it. The odds are definitely not in their favor...but you never know! Till next time.

I want to see your piano. That is CRAZY about the splotches. That would make me feel SO defeated!!! I'm glad it's all better. I can't wait to see it. I'm so glad you and Clay are feeling so much better. Honey and Asprin. Very interesting. Never heard of it. Why not? Hope it helps. As for my skin dilemas, they honestly went away as soon as I stopped picking at my face. Without fail, if I stopped picking for one week my skin would be soooo much clearer. And as soon as I would pick, they'd all be back again. So that's what works for me. I feel like my scars are finally starting to fade. But it could just be that I don't stare in the mirror near as much as I used to. And just plain not caring anymore. I hope it clears up. I feel your pain! I remember the big underground ones. Those are the worst 'cause there's nothing you can do. So that will be interesting if these treatments help bring it to the surface or shrink down. I hope so! I love you!!!

Oh yeah. Have you ever visited a dermatologist? That's actually what made it go all away. And when I stopped it stayed away 'cause I learned to stop picking. I wish I remembered what I took. It worked really fast and really well. The first time I went to a dermatologist it SUCKED, I broke out a TON and it was painful and that's where 90% of my scars are from. I hated the doctor, he was horrible. But the SECOND time, he was great (he was actually in my bishopric) and it all worked out great. Good luck!

I get really large painful zits that and putting neosporin on them seems to help alot. Might have to try the honey mask though. Good luck with everything!

Well, I hope it works. I wonder if all the things you are going through with your body is affecting it also. You are brave to put your face out there. I have made myself let people take pics of me and the grandkids even when I don't have makeup on. I'm so excited about your piano!!! And for the record, your dad would say, I had done lots today because I had read my scriptures, worked on my primary stuff and talked to my daughter! So I had done some very important things. Had to share that with you!!! Loved chatting with you!!! love you!!!

Oh man the acne. I seriously thought it was a teenager thing but so not true. I've heard of the aspirin thing but I would be interested in how both turn out. I would feel so defeated if I did all of that work on a piano to have it ruined in the end. Have you ever used polyacrylic. It is a clear sealer that specifically does not make things yellow. I use it on anything but especially my white and cream painted stuff. It comes in a spray can but I brush it on.

oh wowser danielle, I am so sorry about your acne. Why haven't you tried clinique? I love it. I have found the key is not picking at my face. because when I had cancer I never looked in the mirror, therefore- I never picked at my face and it was like magic! I also didn't wear makeup during cancer, so that could have been a contributer too. I'm so sorry, I hope the masks work. I'm so excited to see the piano. I LOVE you and I'm glad you guys are feeling better. Do you think your acne is a result of lyme? like getting rid of toxins through your face? or do you think it would be that way regardless? locve you

Can't wait to see the piano! Total bummer about the yellow spots, i think I would be defeated after that and live with the yellow - your a much more dedicated craft/project person than I am :)
I'ld love to hear if the honey/aspirin works! When we're teenagers everyone makes us feel like acne is something that will pass with age -- if only that were true.

I would pay a million dollars to have your skin :) I can 100% understand how you feel and i'm so sorry. It's the worst. But if it makes you feel any better, mine is that times 5,000. Let me know how the masks go! I'm working with a naturopath right now with my diet... that's my current approach. blehh!

I'm SO happy you're feeling better. what a blessing!!

love you!
