I did the unspeakable...
Today I did something I vowed I'd NEVER do in MY LIFE.
I scooped poop. (queue face of HORROR)
Here's the deal...Clay didn't feel that great this last weekend...so he didn't scoop poop or mow the lawn...something he usually does once a week. Well....it's been longer than that- quite a bit since the lawn has been mowed, and therefore a long time since the poop has been scooped. Clay is SWAMPED at work this week...as in...16 hour days type swamped. It's poopy. In so many ways.
He asked me today, to please scoop the poop...so his dad could come mow our lawn (I don't know how to work our riding lawn mower). I told him no. He said he would rather do it, but he doesn't have time and it needs to be done before its way too long and out of control (the lawn). I told him, can't we wait and see if you have time tomorrow? He says no. So...begrudgingly, I obliged.
I'm pretty sure that after what I did today, I can no longer be called a lady. It really was as horrifying as I thought! I can't decide which was my favorite kind of poop to scoop. The kind that was cemented to the grass...looking like an artifact that came from another century, or the nice fresh kind that still had flies feasting on it. Who am I kidding? They were both lovely.
I told Clay he better be thinking of something to make this up to me.
Really, I just hope I can recover from this.

Bahahahaha Danielle! you're super wife!!! I don't know if I could have done it! way to go sister! And OH MY GOSH. I LOVEEEEE your piano decor!!! And I'm so glad you had Clay take that picture of you because it's beautiful!!! And your art is fantastic! I love it all :)
LOL!!!!
I completely know what you mean! It's feels degrading. I didn't pick up our dog's poop for 2-3 years...but now I do it often because Chad works so many hours. I'd rather do it myself when he's at work, so that when he's home, I can just enjoy him being home. Slowly, it has become not so bad, and when it's sunny outside, I barely mind. It's like growing accustomed to changing your kid's poopy diaper. After awhile, it's still gross, but you don't think about it as much. It's just part of life. Though that doesn't mean that's how it's going to pan out for you! I only do it cuz Chad's hours, so hopefully Clay's hours will change soon. : )
I totally feel your pain. I have to pick it up multiple times a day so Graham doesn't pick it up and play with it. Gross! The things we do....!

nasty. was that the deal when you got dante? that he'd always scoop the poop? yuck
It is so gross but part of dog ownership. We have a golden and I thought his were big. I can only imagine a great dane's. I walk around the yard with my nose in my shirt and even that doesn't help sometimes. Thankfully jeff is usually the scooper.
hahahahahaha! That was so funny!! I am very sorry for you though!!! I would hate that! And you are right He owes you!
love you!!!!
Atleast it was your dog! I have some fresh poop in my front lawn right now and it's not from us! Grrr!!!! It never ends! I think it's so funny you have a dog and don't scoop. Do you have a scooper? 'cause I have to use a plastic bag and my hands. gross. anyway. I think it's so funny because he's like your kid. It would be like making greg do all the poopy diapers of scarlet. But I applaud you that you have that deal worked out. One of my old clients made her husband vow to take out all the garbage when they got engaged. And she's never had to do it! Crazy! Funny story. Sorry, I feel your pain.
OH and it's so true about the different poops. I didn't know they could get so hard and stuck to things! I never get it all!
Oh my gosh- pahahahhahah- that is SO disgusting. And the post was really hilarious. love you, and feel so sorry for you! ha. gross!
