Today was one of those days...

Where you go to Walmart and wish there were a Trader Joes nearby...sigh......

Walmart was particularly crazy today. Crazier than normal. I didn't get it. I told the cashier, and she said "Never come the first weekend of the month, that's when people get food stamps"....I should've known. I'm feeling particularly ANNOYED at how broke our nations welfare system is right now. If you don't think it's broke, you're probably benefiting from it. And if you're benefiting from it, you're probably eating steaks and ice cream and you're probably EATING those luxury items infront of a new big screen tv....do you not believe me? Trust me- it's happening all over the freaking nation and I've been witness to it and it's retarded.

Did you know my husband and I both have full time jobs- but........we never freaking have steaks OR ice cream. Ughhhhhhhhhh

Anyway- wow. I didn't even plan on talking about that! I guess that's what happens when you shop at walmart, and see someone with two cart-fulls of groceries in the isle next to you SCREAM "But I HAVE MONEY IN MY ACCOUNT!" and then see the girl in the same line behind her...sigh and get the look like- I knew this was the wrong line...

Good news is, as I was driving out of the parking lot, a car of 3 young teenager looking guys drove infront of me and all three of them turned their heads and gawked at me. As in- kept staring as they drove past! A good 15 seconds or so. If you think this was creepy- it most definitely wasn't. It was marvelous! I still got it.

Bad news is- there is a freaking fly buzzing around my head and it wont leave.

Good news is- it's the weekend! Hollaaaaaaaa! And I get to watch General Conference. This is one good thing about living in Idaho...I don't have to have Satellite or even Cable to watch it at home! They broadcast it on good ol' ABC in my town and it's wonderful.

Well- I think it's about time to get something done. I had a lazy morning today. It was wonderful. I don't remember the last time I had a lazy morning. Usually on all my days off I wake up at the same time Clay does for work, and I have a long list of things to do and get it all done. I had a long list of things to do and was planning on getting it done but then I decided....eh? Let's have a lazy morning. So I stayed in bed and watched probably 3 episodes of Gilmore Girls. I stopped in between to let the dog outside, and make myself a shake...then I continued. Ohhhhhhhh I loved it. But because of my lazy morning I still have a bunch of crap to do....crap that I can never seem to be able to do during the week after work. Oh well.

Hope you have a good conference weekend!

Oh dear. I just remembered. We are watching 2 dogs for a week starting tonight! As in- there will be THREE DOGS in my house for A WEEK! Wowsers. I guess I'm glad I never got around to mopping the floors today :)

I am so glad you experienced the SAME THING at the grocery store today. Only I was at Winco thinking... what the crap. Why are there so many foreigners and screaming kids. Then it hit me after I was annoyed and wanted to get the heck out of there that yep... I made the mistake of shopping the first day of the month. So annoying to look around at whats in their carts and knowing it is my tax dollars paying for their crap that I can't even buy myself.
Good luck with doggie sitting. Learn from my mistake... make sure they have their parvo shot. hehe.
Sorry about the rant and rave but I felt better reading that we pretty much had the exact same annoying experience.

Thanks for keeping my dogs for me! They have all of their shots :) You guys are very kind (and brave) to us a favor like that. It is really lonely here without them though. Off to Disneyland we go!! Have fun with the dogs!!

Funny post. Hey, even though people take advantage of the system, remember a lot of people DO need it right now. That's what I focus on, or I just get angry. 3 dogs? Sounds crazy. Oh I loved that you loved being checked out. So do I. Well, it depends I suppose. I've lost it. I used to get checked out a lot, but not anymore. But everyone always talks about how rude, or bad, or creepy it is, but I always loved it. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I think it was great that you got checked out. 3 dogs??? good luck with that. Judy has 3 dogs, but they are all trained and behave, at least most of the time. I hate shopping at Wal-mart in Spfld, which is one of the supers and there is always a line and a lot of food stamp people. I know that some people do need it, but many really don't and I get annoyed too. I love you and miss you

Have fun with the 3 dogs. As long as they all get along and love to play, you will have one tired, happy dog at the end. My favorite part. Food stamps...don't even get me started. My mom and I avoid those stores like the plague at the beginning of the month. I totally understand that many people need it right now and I see nothing wrong in that, however it usually is what they are buying. Here I am at Albertsons using my coupons like crazy to stretch a dollar and the people in front of me are buying spendy cuts of meat along with other random things and whip out their quest card. Annoying!! I always think how if I was on food stamps, how I could strech that dollar so far. And I am pretty sure I wouldn't frivolously start spending it on crap because it was not my money to start. We could go on and on about this...

I've been a cashier at Grocery Outlet and Wal-Mart, trust me- I've seen all the crazies who take advantage of the system and they make me crazy, but I'm with Megan 100%-- there are a lot of people who are working really hard and truly need the help. So I try to focus on that :)

and duh you still got it, you're adorable!

Fun blog! I'm glad you had a lazy morning, it feels good to do that sometimes. I love and loved conference!! 3 dogs...... I feel sorry for you! Welfare... that has been a hard thing forever. Our country doesnt' teach a man how to fish, they just give him the fish. If there were laws about what they could by and recipes and classes they had to take to learn how to cook, our taxes wouldn't be so high. love you!!!!

Oh wow, you make me laugh and laugh. You know what the funniest thing is. I am on WIC and I am watching my big screen TV as I write this. So funny. And the part where you said you still got it. So cute. I love those days and why dont we have Trader joes here. I here they have lots of gluten free stuff.

I'm so happy you had a lazy morning. I have strong feelings on the subject. I treat myself to them far too often. So often, I'm always really proud of myself when I don't have a lazy morning.

I love that you got checked out. And by younger guys. You definitely haven't lost it, and I can't believe what a totally Arnold thing that is to say. Personally I'm getting it back. A guy hit on me at the gym a few days ago. A few days before that a guy was totally staring at me half of my workout. Of course I have a really hot boyfriend, but it is always, and I mean always, nice to be stared at. Love you.

3 dogs! You guys are crazy.

I wish I still had it. I'm not so sure anymore. I'm pretty sure the last two guys that approached me were in stores and they asked if I was pregnant. Yowsa. I'm pretty sure those weren't pick-up lines. = )

I love that you are so honest about the welfare system.

love you so much.
